“Finding Grace” Day 12: The NotWedding.

16 Mar

Upon reflection…or should I say because of the obvious fact that I have only blogged once this week. I think that sometimes I need to do my daily challenge the morning after the day. Like today. So I present you my yesterday.

On Wednesday I lamented about being very unproductive so yesterday I was productive! I went to class at 7:30, ran, met up with a partner from class st Starbucks to do some homework, laid out in the gorgeous weather (and sunburned myself like a loser) and went to a fake wedding!

Last minute I got tickets to The NotWedding from the “bride” who is a friend from high school who is actually already married! I went solo since I couldn’t find a companion last-minute and although it was a little awkward because it is basically an alternative to a bridal show I kept getting asked, “So are you a bride…when are you getting married?” Hmm…No to the first question and about the second one? Yea I don’t know. It actually went more like, well not, but I know the “bride” and really like wedding stuff/ am an event planner in my dreams. It wasn’t as awkward as it sounds and all the vendors and guests were so nice! It was a really great time!

Yesterday’s Photos of the Day

Here’s the beautiful “bride and groom” at their adorable “engagement” shoot with bluelane studios.

Here is my “something blue” dress for the “wedding!”

This was my favorite table design at the wedding! It’s a window pane! The website asked us not to bring our cameras and wait for the photographers to share their photos so I apologize for the iPhone quality!

Yesterday’s Eats

Breakfast

Chocolate Chip Brownie Larabar and a banana!

Snack

Decaf Iced Coffee with Soymilk and Sugar Free Caramel Syrup (SF is gross…never again!)

Lunch

2 pieces of california roll and 2 pieces of inari! Yum!

Dinner

Delicious dinner at The NotWedding catered by John Michael Events. Mediterranean salad, honey roasted carrots, cauliflower souffle, and a sun-dried tomato ravioli. All were absolutely delicious! This was obviously not a dairy free meal though!

Dessert

Decaf coffee with a rock sugar stir-er! And two YumYum Cupcake Truck cupcakes, always amazing!

Yesterday’s Workout!

I finally started Week 2 of Running 101! I don’t know why but every time I go to run I get nervous like I cannot not it and clearly I can! yesterday was a 5 minute warm up, 1/1 run/walk intervals times 10 and then a 10 minute cool down and I felt great! So I’m not sure why I get so nervous? I was especially nervous last Friday when I did week 1′s challenge 1 mile for time and I fretted over going out to do it but when I finally did it only took me 9 minutes! So tomorrow when I do my next workout I’m going to try to get up and at em early, not like today at 11, and just do it!

Reflection

I was so concerned with going to The Not Wedding myself but I was pleasantly surprised with how well I handled going solo and I left feeling very confident in myself! However I went from feeling confident to feeling horrible when I got home. I started eating a few of those Red White and Blue spicy tortilla chips and ate a few more than I planned on and passed out while watching Game Change the movie about Sarah Palin on HBO.

Rob had to force me to wake up to take off my makeup and then I got out the M&M Pretzels since it has turned into my dairy day of the week. And after the chips and M&M’s it was all down hill from there and I ended up with a belly ache resulting in a heart ache over the fact that I had once again given into silly cravings and felt terrible for it. I don’t know how I don’t see it coming it always hits late at night but I always fall prey to it anyway. I guess next time I really need to exercise some self-control.

Today has started out very lazily! I think it’s about time drag my butt out of bed and get something done!

“Finding Grace” Day 11: So about that challenge thing.

15 Mar

What can I say for myself….I mean I was doing so well. And then it all just fell apart. I guess that is what happens when you are too busy having fun and get home at 1 in the morning and are too sleepy to blog! Basically I had a wonderful day Friday and that night we drove to Tuscaloosa for an Alabama Gymnastics meet and didn’t get back until late, plus we had to be packed and wake up at 5:30 to leave for a gymnastics meet in Savannah the next morning! So I thought to myself perfect I’ll get the blog ready in the car and when we get to our hotel I’ll put it up. Instead, I got to the hotel and showered and went out to have a great time with my family. Oops. Bottom line is I got busy and made sleep not blogging a priority, I got back to school and had a huge campaigns project I had procrastinated on that kept me busy until last night when my group presented and I felt like a weight was lifted off me!

So I’m starting fresh and although I skipped 5 days (wow that’s a lot of days) I’m ready to get back to my challenge. I did have a wonderful weekend and want to share the photos but I’m going to do it 1 week after so on Friday I’ll share last Fridays photos too, like a mini flashback!

But for today, let’s focus on today!

Which wasn’t exactly exciting. I fell asleep last night with my clothes and makeup on, hadn’t set an alarm and proceeded to sleep through an alarm Rob set for me, then missed my class. Failure. I did go to my second class but it only took 30 minutes so the next 45 minutes was spent waiting for Rob. After class it was lunch time and then off on a field trip to Whole Foods! Since deciding to give up dairy I haven’t had readily available dairy substitutes so I’ve been looking forward to exploring a bit while there! And oh did I explore…I did $100 worth of exploring unfortunately. I won’t be going back there in a while!

Here are my photos for the day!

Lots of So Delicious coconut milk products! I was stocking up! And Vegenaise because I’ve missed mayo on my cucumber sandwiches!

Wheat Waffles Cereal, Red Hot Blues Tortilla  Chips, Guiltless Gourmet Baked Tortilla Chips, lots of exciting flavors of Larabars, Almond and Dried Cherry Dark Chocolove Bar, Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies and Newman’s Own all natural mints.

Lightly Breaded Fishies, Alexia sweet potato fries, Tofurkey Kielbasa, Mixed Mushrooms, Fakin’ Bacon,  Garden Vegetable Tempeh and a Grass Fed Cowboy Burger for Rob!

Nutritional Yeast (finally got it for Peas and Thank You Recipeas!), Coconut Milk to make dairy free ice cream with, lots of beans, and coconut oil and vegetable shortening for vegan baking!

When I got back from field trip I was magically sleepy again and decided to read some of my new Entertainment Weekly’s and dosed off. I think I must be needing sleep or might be getting sick. When I finally got my booty out of bed I did a quick workout, showered finally and started to make dinner. Since dinner my booty had been planted on the couch and I have a massive headache!

Today Eat’s

Breakfast: A piece of Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin toast with pb and sliced strawberries.

Lunch

Pasta Leftovers (organic whole wheat semolina penne, Barilla Mushroom and Garlic Sauce and a crumbled Gardein Burger), sliced apples and green beans.

Snack

Half a Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie from Whole Foods lovingly shared with Rob

Dinner

Rob’s Grass Fed Cowboy Burger before hitting the George Foreman!

Balsamic Green Beans and Mushrooms-pre roasting.

They were super simple! I just tossed cleaned green beans and mushrooms with garlic infused olive oil and balsamic vinegar, hit it with some fresh salt and pepper, then roasted for 20 minutes on 450! They turned out great!

I used the fakin’ bacon and vegenaise to make a blt of sorts on some Jimmy John’s break we picked up yesterday!

Dessert

It was Jeremiah’s Night! I had P-nutty and Cookies & Cream Ice with chocolate sprinkles!

Today’s Workout

Honestly I pinned this workout and was not at all impressed maybe because I didn’t have great equipment to work with but I don’t plan on using it again…it didn’t exactly blast my belly as planned.

Reflection

This hasn’t exactly been a day for the history books on Your Daily Grace, except I’m not sure if I spent more than $100 at a grocery store in one visit before. My day wasn’t by any means bad but it sure as heck wasn’t productive either. I did enjoy a nice dinner and dessert before the on set of this lovely headache. But now I just feel like it’s time for bed and maybe an Advil. Here’s to hoping I’ll get something accomplished tomorrow!

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! Because I sure as heck hope you’re not up at 1:30 like I am!
