Bye Bye Bama.

27 Jul

If my calculations are correct I have not blogged in almost two weeks… But as usual I have some really great excuses! First off I was babysitting John David, who is a 5-year-old boy so that should be all the explanation needed. Then I was in Maryland and only had access to (cue the horror music sound effects) dial-up. And goodness knows I wasn’t even going to try to mess around with that. I mean do you remember aol? At the time is was great but in hindsight I’ll happily keep my high-speed internet. Back to my last excuse…I’ve been packing and moving. Almost as horrifying as dial-up and clearly a great excuse to not blog.

Before I flew off to Maryland I spent a weekend babysitting John David and Josie for Aunt Jen while her, Uncle Dave, and MK were at a softball exhibition in steamy hot Atlanta. And when they got home Aunt Jen and I got to spend a few bittersweet days hanging out. When she dropped me off at the airport I couldn’t help feeling like it was the end of an era. I’ve stayed with her in the summers since I was 12 years old and the past few years my trips have become longer and more frequent. But now that I’m a” grown up” and have to get a job I don’t know if I’ll ever have the same flexibility again.

Here’s some photos of my time in Bama!

Bowling with the Stewart Family!

The look of determination.

Interesting method. Slamming the ball into the ground instead of rolling it.

It didn’t turn out so well that time but he beat me! We both had bumpers…

I had Zoe’s, my favorite in Birmingham for 10 years now!

MK snuggling with Channing at the movies!

Jared & Booda acting like crazies!

I found some time to FINALLY send out my Graduation Thank Yous! Sorry for the delay everyone!

John David colored Pooh Bear for me while I was busy with the thank yous…

Josie and I enjoyed a free Starbucks Fresher and a breakfast sandwich for lunch when I was babysitting!

I took them to see The Three Stooges at the $1.50 theatre since it was rainy. It was very cute but I left feeling very afraid “someone” might try to hit me with a hammer later that night!

Josie and I were nice enough to take John David to McDonald’s so we could eat ice cream he could play.

Seriously…try one of these dipped cones.

MK, who rocked her softball exhibition btw, almost fainted when she got to *gasp* actually hold her Justin Beiber Tickets!

We “fwocused” on painting our pottery as John David said….

On my last night we went out to Japanese and MK had a little too much fun…

It was lots of fun and just a little crazy which is the usual for time spent with the Bonamys! It’s a little sad not knowing the next time I’ll visit but if I miss them too much there is an open invitation to move in! At the moment, while I’m in the middle of packing I can’t quite comprehend moving again any time soon but it’s nice to feel welcome and loved!

I still have to catch up on the wonderful time I spent with my Dad and the O’Neal side of my family in Maryland, but for now I have a whole huge SUV to unload! And a whole lot of organizing to do once everything is out! Luckily I can do that and watch the Opening Ceremonies later!

Happy Friday! Have a Wonderful Night!
